Doug Moran
Leadership Coach
Doug is an Executive/Leadership Coach and OD Specialist for ELP. Doug earned his B.S. degree from James Madison University. He also earned the coveted Associate Coaching Certification (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF). Doug is also a graduate of the prestigious coaching program offered at Georgetown University.
It is impossible to question the legitimacy of Doug’s background as it stands alone in its significance. Specifically, Doug’s resume includes leading complex enterprises of more than 16,000 employees. His professional accomplishments include service as the Chief Information Officer for Capital One’s Financial Service Division, as well as, Virginia’s Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Resources. Doug would go on to reach additional heights in public service as the Chief Operating Officer of the Department of Social Services and, also, as the Director of Telecommunications. Under his leadership, Virginia revolutionized its welfare system, putting more than 30,000 unemployed citizens to work. One can also look to Doug’s long list of achievements to see that of accomplished and celebrated author. Specifically, his book, If You Will Lead: Enduring Wisdom for 21st Century Leaders was named one of the “Best Leadership Books of 2011” by LeadershipNow.com.
Over the last decade, ELP leveraged the experiences and skills mentioned above to drive some impressive victories under less than ideal situations. Namely, Doug was on the front lines of almost every nuclear power station client in ELP’s long history. An expert at building simplified, strategic One Page Plans, as part of our proprietary Strategic Performane Management (SPM) Process, Doug is also unequalled as an executive coach. Many of our clients, even after almost a decade after the initial contract expired, still reach out to Doug for professional and personal coaching and counseling. That means his impact is enduring and some of the world’s largest energy producers and providers such as DTE Energy, Dominion Energy, and the Tennessee Valley Authority can all serve as a witness to Doug’s extraordinary and lasting influence.
When Doug isn’t helping individuals or organizations find their competitive advantage, you can find him near the water where he loves to fish. Doug is also an avid and voracious reader and, rumor has it, that he’s equally good in the kitchen.
