Brett Ravan

Leadership Coach & Maintenance and Training Specialist

Brett is a Leadership Coach and Maintenance and Training Specialist for ELP. A veteran of the U.S. Navy’s Naval Nuclear Power program, he served from 1982 to 2003, graduating at the top of his class and later earning the designation of Master Training Specialist. During his 20-year naval career, Brett completed three sea tours on submarines and served as the Submarine Atlantic Fleet Mechanical Master Chief, where he oversaw shipyard project management and mechanical equipment improvements.

Brett’s expertise in high-consequence environments is extensive. Following his military retirement, he spent two decades at a major Fortune 500 utility, where he held a Senior Reactor Operator License and led the Mechanical Maintenance Department. As the Maintenance Manager at a top-performing utility, he achieved two INPO 1 scores—the industry’s highest performance rating—and was later hand-selected to lead a critical policy recovery at another station. He concluded his tenure as Training Manager, successfully navigating NRC inspections and OPS program reaccreditation.

At ELP, Brett pairs technical precision with a deep commitment to operational excellence. He leverages his background in nuclear oversight and fleet leadership to help organizations bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and elite personnel performance. His mission is to instill the discipline, leadership excellence, and training rigor necessary for teams to thrive in the most demanding industries.

Despite spending half of his professional life on boats, he remains an active and adventurous traveler. Other interests include demanding hikes, enjoying a fine cigar, and diving into history—one of his earliest passions, in which he jokingly claims an unofficial doctorate.
