evanoffsteinA former Military Intelligence Officer, Dr. Evan Offstein is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned a Master of Administration degree from Central Michigan University and a Doctorate in Business from Virginia Tech. Currently a member of the business management faculty at Frostburg State University, Dr. Offstein has managed and led corporate and non-profit organizations to include Corning Inc., Target Corporation, and the Virginia Military Institute.

Dr. Offstein’s research on organizations, organizational theory, and senior executives has won recognition and awards at the top international conferences to include the Academy of Management Conference, the Strategic Management Society Conference, and the American Society for Competitiveness Conference. Moreover, he has been published in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Human Resource Management Journal (HRMJ), Journal of Managerial Psychology, Competitiveness Review, Human Resource Management Review, International Journal of Educational Management, Quality Progress, and Business Communication Quarterly. In addition, Dr. Offstein has published cases and book chapters in Strategic Management Cases (10th edition: Prentice Hall) and LMX Leadership: The Series on Sharing Network Leadership (Information Age Publishing). He is also a Senior Editor for the International Journal of Business Disciplines.

Dr. Offstein is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is the author of Stand Your Ground: Building Honorable Leaders the West Point Way (Preager Publishing, 2009). Such notable leaders as former U.S. Attorney General and Governor of Pennsylvania Dick Thornburgh, and Virginia Tech Head Coach Frank Beamer have endorsed the book. Offstein is also the lead author of Making Telework Work: Leading People and Leveraging Technology for High-impact Results (Davies-Black Publishing, 2009) and Gridiron Leadership: Winning Strategies and Breakthrough Tactics with Foreword by Art Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers (Praeger Publishing, 2009) with endorsements from Maryland Chancellor Kirwan, Army Chief of Staff General Odierno, and former Sergeant Major of the Army, Ken Preston. In 2008, Dr. Offstein won the Frostburg State University Faculty Achievement Award for his research. He has spoken at major conferences and organizations, including the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association Annual Conference, regarding leadership and organizational theory research. Dr. Offstein presented as the keynote leadership speaker for the series on Honor, Legitimacy, and Leadership at the Citadel, Virginia Tech 2007 Leadership Conference, 2007 International Insurance and Financial Planner Leadership and Management Conference, and 2009, 2010, and 2011 Nichols Leadership Conference.

Dr. Offstein has consulted for such organizations as the U.S. Army, U.S. Treasury, Dominion Power, Tennessee Valley Authority, Internal Revenue Service, Northwestern Mutual Life, Allegany College, Southwest Florida Law Enforcement Academy, Raymond James Financial, Securian's Tax and Financial Group, Eisenhower Institute, Texas A&M University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Gettysburg College, Solutia Corporation, Mercer County New Jersey, Navigant Consulting, Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads, MYMIC, GreenApple Schools, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, City of Pensacola, National Community Development Services, Idaho Law Enforcement Academy, Christopher Newport University, Armstrong County Schools, Human Resource Development Commission, Century Furniture, CHEP International, City of Hagerstown, Washington County Schools, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Cambria County/City of Johnstown, Bedford County, Somerset County, and the Western Maryland Health System.

In 2008, Offstein was awarded the sole and exclusive contract to provide leadership training for the Maryland Transportation Authority. Also, in 2011, Offstein was named Top Professional Under 40 in Western Maryland.
